Started by Paul in 2018
Paul Howell is a trained carpenter and joiner. After years working in the trade for other companies, he set up Howell & Sons in 2018 to build the way he thought it should be done: properly, and with the customer looked after from start to finish.
We're deliberately a small team. Paul visits every job, prices it himself and stays your point of contact throughout, so you're never passed around. We specialise in domestic work: extensions, loft conversions, structural alterations and renovations.
Paul's interest in the trade started young, following his grandad, a carpenter, around and watching him work.

Blair, Nick and Jeff have worked alongside Paul for years. Between us we have over 100 years in the building industry.
Our own team
A foreman and bricklayer, a groundworker and steel fixer, and a lead carpenter, all employed by us and with us for years.
Trades we know well
Our plasterers and electricians have worked with us for five years, and we use trusted local plumbers we know well.
A painter we've known since school
Our painter and decorator has been a friend since our school days, and has worked with us from the start.

We specialise in domestic projects, including home extensions, renovations, fitted joinery, groundworks, structural works and general building services. We also offer plumbing, heating and electrical work.
Are you a registered and insured building contractor?
Yes. Howell & Sons is a fully registered and insured building contractor. We put safety and compliance first on every project, to give you and your family peace of mind.

We give you a clear timeline and a detailed quote before any work starts. We keep in touch throughout the project to keep you updated and make sure we stay within your budget.
